Prof.S.V.SATYANARAYANA, the former Vice-Chancellor of Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, is an acclaimed critic of Telugu literature. He is an Academician, Poet, literary critic, and a prolific Writer, Organiser and an Administrator; popular in the Literary circles with the pen name ‘esvee’. At present, Chairman, Telugu Implementation Committee, Telangana State; Co-Ordinator, Ek Bharat Shrest Bharat, TS State and Chief Editor, Telangana Padhakosham (Dictionary).
esvee is born on 16th August 1954 at Hyderabad in a lower middle class family. He acquired M.A.(Telugu), M.Phil., Ph.D., M.A. (English) degrees from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
He possesses 34 years of teaching experience at various levels. He was the Principal, University college of Arts & Social Sciences (Arts College); Dean, Faculty of Arts, Osmania University; Academic Senate member, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad and Emiretus Professor, Dept of Telugu, Osmania University.
Prof. Satyanarayana’s academic contribution is endorsed as Course Writer, Resource Person, Examiner and Adjucator since 1988 in all the universities of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He completed three minor research projects; three major research projects sponsored by UGC. He supervised 14 doctoral theses (Ph.D’s ) and 3 M.Phil dissertations. He organized and participated in a number of International & National Seminars, conferences and workshops to present research papers. He is the editor of Textbooks for the UG and PG courses of Osmania University, Telugu University, Kakatiya University, Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Open University, Mahatma Gandhi University, Open School society of state government; and resource person for State Cultural Council.
‘Esvee’ published 28 books and edited 34 books to his credit. He is coveted with many prestigious awards. He has been awarded 35 National and State level awards. He is crowned with awards and honors from Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, A.P.Official Language Commission and many other literary organizations. He is recognized by the State government as Best Teacher in 2010 and the government of Telangana on its first anniversary awarded State Government Literary Award (2015).
Dr.S.V.Satyanarayana was nominated by the Film Development Corporation, Govt. of A.P.as a Screening Committee member of Nandi Award Committe for Telugu Social plays, 2007. His contribution to the telugu literary world is reflected as the Core Committee Member, World Telugu conference held during 15-19 Dec 2017 at Hyderabad, Telangana State.
He achieved international recognition in the Asia America Who’s Who, 2003(Biographical Institute, Mauritius); Reference Asia, 2003 (Refacimen to International, New Delhi); and The Contemporary Who’s Who of Professionals, 2004(American Biographical Institute, USA).
Prof.S.V.Satyanarayana visited Australia, Egypt, Malaysia, Mauritius, Russia, Singapore, New Zealand and USA to canvas Telugu language and literature on various platforms.
